Effective date: September 14, 2026
Service provider: Manas Macchina, Inc. d/b/a Legacii
Current WhatsApp setup uses a private one-to-one conversation. Each storyteller signs in with their own phone, connects WhatsApp in Legacii and sends the first message. Group setup and automated first contact are not currently offered. Maya asks permission before creating derived family memories; the original messages remain in the conversation.
1. Your agreement with Legacii
These Terms govern the Legacii website, Maya storytelling experience, family archive, and related services (the “Service”). Manas Macchina, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Legacii (“Legacii,” “we,” “us”), provides the Service. You accept these Terms when you affirmatively agree at checkout, during onboarding, or when creating or accepting access to an account. Purchasing a gift does not create an agreement on behalf of the recipient.
The Cancellation & Refunds Policy and, for gifts, the Gift Terms form part of your agreement. The Privacy Policy explains our information practices. Plan-specific terms clearly disclosed before purchase govern that purchase, but do not remove a money-back guarantee already offered or mandatory consumer rights.
2. Eligibility and availability
Account holders, purchasers, and participants must be at least 18 and able to enter into these Terms. Do not impersonate another person or participate on their behalf without lawful authority. A family relationship, payment for a gift, or access to a phone does not by itself establish that authority.
Legacii is based in the United States and primarily markets to U.S. purchasers. It may be accessed elsewhere where supported by our providers and applicable law; we do not require every customer to have a U.S. billing address. We may restrict availability for legal, sanctions, provider, or operational reasons. Nothing in these Terms transfers Legacii's own legal obligations to you or excludes mandatory protections that apply to you.
3. People and permissions
A Purchaser pays for a plan and manages that purchase. A Narrator is the person whose life and memories the plan principally records; we also refer to this person as the main Storyteller. A circle consists of the people authorized to use that Narrator's archive.
The archive interface may show these additional roles: Keeper, an authorized archive manager; Storyteller, a contributor who adds material; and Listener, a person who can view or listen to permitted content. These interface roles do not change who owns a contribution or give legal authority over another person's privacy rights. The permissions shown when a role is assigned determine what the role can do.
The Narrator controls participation and authorization of their circle. A Keeper may administer access only within the authority the Narrator grants. Buying a gift does not automatically make the Purchaser a Keeper or Listener. Billing access does not confer story access. Unless a feature expressly offers narrower sharing, a circle invitation may allow access to the archive rather than only one story; review the displayed permissions before inviting someone.
4. What the Service provides
Legacii helps people capture and organize their experiences through Maya, an AI storytelling guide, and a private family archive. Depending on the available features and plan, this can include text messages, voice notes, photographs, transcripts, translations, organized stories, timelines, and storybook views. The purchase page describes the features included in a particular plan.
Maya is AI, not a human biographer. Outputs can contain omissions, invented details, translation mistakes, or other inaccuracies. Review important outputs against original material. We do not certify historical truth, authorship, or the completeness of an archive. Availability of languages and features may vary.
Maya is not a medical, mental-health, legal, financial, emergency, or general-purpose advice service. The Service is not continuously monitored for emergencies. Future concepts, including Keepsake, are not included merely because they appear on a roadmap.
5. WhatsApp invitations and participation
A Purchaser may introduce the Narrator to Maya through a supported WhatsApp group or share an invitation for the Narrator to start a conversation. Legacii may also use an approved WhatsApp invitation template where the recipient has already given the required permission to be contacted. Template approval is separate from the recipient's permission and participation consent.
The Narrator must personally agree to participate before ordinary story capture and AI story processing begin. Before that choice, we may process the limited contact, delivery, security, and consent information needed to introduce the Service and record a response. Do not send stories, voice notes, or photographs until onboarding is complete.
Everyone in a WhatsApp group can see messages shared there while they participate and may retain copies. Leave the group before private storytelling begins, or move to an appropriately supported private conversation. Leaving a group does not erase earlier messages or separately remove any archive access already granted. See About Maya & Your Choices.
6. Accounts and support
Use accurate information and keep your account secure. The phone number supplied for a purchase is used to associate that purchase with the Purchaser's account; do not use the Narrator's number as a substitute for the Purchaser's billing identity. Access requires the verification method presented by the Service. A phone number or optional passcode is not itself permission to view another person's archive.
Do not share verification codes or passcodes. Tell support@legacii.ai if a phone number changes, access is lost, or unauthorized activity is suspected. We may verify identity or authority before sensitive account changes. Help with cancellation remains available when account login fails.
7. Prices, start dates, and recurring payments
Prices are in U.S. dollars and apply to one Narrator, unless the purchase page expressly states otherwise. The current Capture offers are US$199 for 12 months, without automatic renewal, or US$19 per month, automatically renewing until canceled. Discounts and taxes are shown before payment. A card issuer may separately charge currency-conversion or international-transaction fees.
Your paid term and any recurring billing begin on the date disclosed at checkout before you pay. Your confirmation records the applicable dates. Sending, receiving, or accepting a WhatsApp invitation does not independently change those dates. We must obtain your affirmative authorization before recurring charges; a recurring plan is not authorized merely by accepting unrelated terms.
Manage purchases through the controls available in your account's Settings, using the purchase-associated phone number. You can cancel future recurring charges by emailing support@legacii.ai, whether or not account controls are available or you can log in. We will confirm cancellation. Canceling future charges ordinarily leaves paid access available through the paid period, unless a refund, deletion request, or lawful suspension ends it earlier. Details are in Cancellation & Refunds.
8. Money-back guarantee and future Keepsake
The initial annual Capture purchase and the first monthly Capture purchase are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee, measured from the original purchase date. Request a refund within that window through support. The guarantee does not restart at each monthly renewal, change of plan, or reactivation. We honor any more favorable written offer made at purchase and all mandatory refund rights.
Keepsake is not currently available for purchase. The proposed offering is US$39 per year for archive-related access, with annual automatic renewal after a separate purchase. Its availability, features, and final purchase terms will be disclosed if launched. We will not switch an existing plan into Keepsake or charge for it without a new affirmative purchase authorization.
9. Your content and the limited license we need
“Story Content” means material you contribute, including messages, recordings, photographs, and biographical information. “Generated Material” means related transcripts, translations, summaries, tags, timelines, and other outputs created to provide the Service.
As between you and Legacii, you retain the rights you hold in your Story Content. You give Legacii a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, reproduce, transmit, transcribe, translate, organize, and display that content only as reasonably needed to provide, maintain, secure, and support the requested Service, honor your instructions, or comply with law. This is not a license to advertise using your stories or sell them. Other contributors retain their rights in their contributions.
You may use Generated Material made for your archive for your personal and family purposes, subject to rights in the underlying material and applicable law. AI outputs may not be unique or eligible for intellectual-property protection. We do not claim ownership of your underlying stories by processing them.
The processing license ends when the relevant content is deleted, except for limited retained copies and records described in the Privacy Policy. During post-cancellation archive retention, it continues only for that archive service and associated support, security, or legal needs—not new story generation or unrelated use.
10. AI providers, staff access, and no model training
We use contracted technology providers, including cloud, messaging, payment, and AI providers, to operate the Service. The Service Providers page identifies the principal providers. Authorized Legacii personnel may access Story Content where needed for service operations, support, troubleshooting, security, abuse investigation, or legal compliance.
We do not use Story Content to train or fine-tune AI models, and we do not authorize our AI providers to do so. Using existing content as context to answer within an archive, transcribe, translate, summarize, or organize it is service processing, not model training. We do not sell Story Content or use it for targeted advertising. We do not represent the entire Service as zero-knowledge or as content that Legacii can never access.
11. Sharing, contributors, and recordings
Only add people to a circle with the Narrator's authorization. A Contributor must have the rights and permissions needed to submit their material. Respect other people's privacy, confidentiality, copyright, and likeness rights; avoid unnecessary sensitive information about others.
A recipient can copy, record, or forward material they can view. Revoking circle access blocks future access through Legacii but does not retrieve independently retained copies. No-public-link access controls are not a guarantee that information can never leave the circle.
If a live call or session is offered and recorded, participants must receive a recording notice and agree before substantive recording begins. Sending a voice note voluntarily is different from recording an undisclosed live call.
12. No consent for a digital replica
Agreement to these Terms does not authorize a cloned voice, synthetic likeness, avatar, personality simulation, or posthumous interactive replica. Any such future feature requires separate, specific permission and terms. The archive and circle settings are not a will, trust, or substitute for estate-planning documents.
Death, incapacity, or a family relationship does not automatically give another person access. Contact support with evidence of authority for a legacy-access request. We may preserve or restrict disputed material while reviewing instructions and applicable law.
13. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to violate law or third-party rights; coerce, harass, or exploit a participant; misrepresent identity or consent; conduct covert surveillance; submit malicious code; evade access controls; scrape other families' content; or overload the Service. Do not send full financial-account numbers, identity-document numbers, passwords, or similarly sensitive credentials through Maya. Do not use Maya for unrelated general-purpose tasks or unlawful content.
We may restrict conduct that creates material safety, privacy, security, or provider-policy risk. We will apply restrictions reasonably and remain responsible for our own obligations.
14. Cancellation, archive access, and deletion
Canceling, receiving a refund, or reaching the end of a paid Capture plan does not by itself delete an archive. Under our current launch policy, existing stories remain available on a read-only basis to the Narrator and the people the Narrator has authorized, without a new storage charge. Paid story-capture and other paid features end when the applicable paid service ends. Permission to view the archive is separate from permission to manage billing.
This is not a promise of permanent free hosting or lifetime access. An archive with no activity by the Narrator or an authorized circle member for 24 consecutive months may be reviewed for deletion. Before deleting an archive for inactivity, we will provide at least 60 days' notice using the contact information we hold. During that period, the Narrator or an authorized archive manager can request continued retention or an export. An archive visit or a confirmed request to keep it counts as activity.
If we change this complimentary-access policy or plan an orderly discontinuation of archive hosting, we will give at least 60 days' advance notice and an opportunity to export existing content. We will not automatically enroll you in a paid storage plan. These notice periods do not prevent earlier action required by law, a valid deletion request, or an urgent security or abuse issue. Keep your contact details current and retain independent copies of irreplaceable material.
You can request export, correction, or deletion through privacy@legacii.ai. Requests may be fulfilled manually after appropriate verification. See Delete My Data. A Purchaser may cancel their payments but cannot delete the Narrator's archive solely because they paid for it.
15. Suspension, changes, and discontinuation
We may suspend access for nonpayment, material breach, suspected compromise, inability to verify authority, or a legal or provider restriction. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the issue and offer a means to resolve it. If we permanently discontinue paid service for reasons other than your breach, we will provide an appropriate refund for the undelivered prepaid period, without limiting stronger legal rights.
We may update the Service and these Terms. We will give notice of material contractual changes and obtain fresh consent when required. Changes to recurring prices or terms will be communicated before they take effect as required by law. We will not treat silence after a policy update as consent to a materially different use of private stories that requires affirmative permission.
16. Intellectual property and feedback
Legacii and its licensors retain their rights in the software, branding, designs, and other non-user materials. You receive permission to use the Service as described in these Terms, not to resell it, defeat its protections, or copy its proprietary components except where law allows. Product feedback may be used to improve the Service; this does not grant broader rights to private Story Content.
17. Service limitations and liability
We work to provide a useful and reliable service, but cannot guarantee error-free AI output, uninterrupted availability, perfect security, permanent preservation, or continued availability of a third-party channel. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties that can lawfully be excluded. These qualifications do not negate an express promise we make or a mandatory consumer guarantee.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the Service. Our total liability relating to an affected Narrator's service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees paid for that Narrator during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including non-waivable privacy and consumer rights. They do not remove any refund expressly owed under our policies. Third-party service interruptions do not excuse our own obligations where law provides otherwise.
18. Delaware law and disputes
Delaware law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to mandatory law, the state and federal courts in New Castle County, Delaware have jurisdiction over disputes.
A consumer retains non-waivable protections and any mandatory right to bring a claim in another forum, including an eligible small-claims court. You may contact support to seek informal resolution, but doing so is not a prerequisite to exercising a statutory right, making a regulatory complaint, or seeking urgent relief. These Terms do not require arbitration or contain a class-action waiver.
19. General provisions and contact
If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Neither assignment nor a business transfer permits materially different use of Story Content contrary to our privacy commitments or applicable law. These Terms, incorporated purchase policies, and the terms disclosed for your purchase form the agreement for the Service.
